Ron specialises in all aspects of commercial property and in particular commercial property syndication and development projects. Ron is a founding partner of the firm and in recent years has concentrated on building a number of key client relationships. Through these relationships he has been able to assist clients with property and development projects and advise on a variety of joint venture structures. Ron has always practiced in Dunedin and although he has now moved to Arrowtown, he still travels extensively to meet the needs of his clients throughout the country. Ron enjoys spending time with his wife and family, riding his mountain bike and driving race cars.

Tess was appointed Mitchell Mackersy's Christchurch representative on her graduation in 1992, having previously been involved in education and retail. Since that time she has managed the Christchurch branch of the firm, joining Ron in partnership in 1999. Tess now advises on property, small business and Trust matters, particularly enjoying her business advisory work for the farming sector. She loves to spend her non-lawyer time over good food and wine with family and friends, or in the back country tramping, boating, camping and skiing. She is an avid collector of New Zealand art, music and poetry.

Hamish joined our Queenstown office in April 2011 from Greenwood Roche Chisnall in Wellington and specialises in commercial property, development projects, construction law and syndication.  Hamish is qualified in both New Zealand (2003) and England/Wales (2006) having spent a number of years in Edinburgh and London with the international firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Hamish is married with two young boys who keep him busy and when time permits he enjoys cycling, skiing and climbing.

Marg joined Mitchell Mackersy in February 2010 to provide support for the Christchurch partners. Her previous role was in legal education with Community Law Canterbury. Marg’s particular interests lie in Estate Planning and Elder Law and her work includes wills, powers of attorney and trusts. She brings experience in employment law, dispute resolution and problem solving. Marg’s work for us also includes all aspects of property law (including relationship property) and specific support work on the partners’ commercial and contract files.

Dale Robertson, who is an Associate of both the REINZ and NZIM, has a comprehensive background in property both in New Zealand and London.  For the 5 years prior to joining Mitchell Mackersy, Dale lived in the UK where he was the Commercial Asset Manager for the London Diocesan Fund, responsible for the management of the Church of England's commercial portfolio across the London Diocese.  Dale is responsible for the management of properties owned by the Mitchell Mackersy Investment Group.

Andrea joined the team in January 2008 on her return from 11 years in Sydney, where she worked in Public Relations.  Andrea is one of our Property Managers and is currently looking after 34+ commercial properties throughout the country.
